I promised I would get back and I will but as I mentioned I'm trying to get my query letters out to other publications right now. And I'm truly learning as I go. That introduction letter that you send out to your work has to be tight. So you must structure and restructure and stucture again. And also depending on who and what market you are sending your query letter to. You may have to take one story and devise two or more queries for each submission. And I chose to be a writer? (smile) So sometimes it seems like I'm spinning in circles. Now that I'm trying to blog and promote myself that's another task I'm undertaking and I'm trying to keep my schedule straight. I definitely need more organizational skills. I'm having a hard enough time trying to keep up with more than one e-mail address, my blog name, the URL, finding my way around this dashboard. One time I try to get on the site I can go right to my blog from the web then the next I can't and have to go through Blogger.com. Then once there I couldn't get through to the dashboard because I couldn't remember my username and or password. This was like a comedy show. But I got here finally.
Briefly, I would like to thank someone who gave me the pump of inspiration to do this blogging. I met him while shopping. Actually I was being helped by someone else and he kind of sauntered over and began to converse with me. It was like he was drawn to me for some reason. I call that synchronicity. It was meant for him to be introduced to me. I was in search of a certain fragrance and while helping me with choices the conversation went from fragrances, to the science of the special notes blended together in those fragrances. Our conversation then stretched to our occupations. He did his day to day in the store but he was also an actor in the theatre, a writer, web designer and has a blog himself. I mentioned that I taught pre-school and I've just had my first short story published by Zane in her new anthology, Chocolate Flava 2. Now I'm working hard to get my other work out and accepted. Which are fiction, non-fiction, personal essays and inspirational. I do some poetry too. He immeditely told me I should start a blog to promote my work. The light bulb came on for me. My interest was piqued. I'd always wanted to investigate the world of the blog but was very apprehensive. So my new friend began to explain the begining phases and wrote down for me where to go on the web to learn how to create one for my self. We must have talked about 45 minutes. He was such an inspiration. He even made himself accessable to e-mail with questions that next day. We also spoke about being newly 50 ish and loving it. We were both told about the dreaded "Turning 50". But guess what, that's when I truly began to feel "My All Thatness". It's our time now and we're not letting anyone's drama infiltrate our space of expansion. When you get into this zone you better watch out. Anything can happen. You take off the blinders and unloosen the reins and go for it. There still may be fear but it's just because it is the unknown. Gotta go, will get back
